Colorado Springs KOA is one of the privately operated parks in the Fountain area. It sits about 72 miles south of downtown Denver as the crow flies, with Fountain as the nearest supply town on our board.

Campers rate it 4.1 of 5 across 1584 reviews on RVParks.us, our sister directory, where the photo sets and firsthand reports live.

The drive from the metro heads down the I-25 corridor. Fuel up before you leave town, since close-in prices beat every mountain and small-town pump, and build in a margin for summer weekend traffic on the way back. As Colorado camping runs go, this one earns its drive time.

At roughly 5,614 feet, the season runs longer here than at the high country camps, and spring or fall trips stay comfortable long after the mountain loops close for the year.

Full hookups are the default at private parks like this one, which is exactly why big rigs and long stays favor them. Expect power, water and sewer at the site, and ask about pull-through pads if backing a trailer isn't your favorite spectator sport. Wifi and laundry usually make the amenity list too.

Booking a Site Here

Book straight with the park. Private parks hold inventory later than the reservation sites, keep longer seasons, and a phone call often finds a weekend pull-through the internet swears is gone. Expect full hookups as the default and ask about long-rig sites if you're bringing anything over 35 feet.

Pairing It With a Camper

From the Denver metro this is an easy launch either way: pick the camper up in town and you're backing in with daylight left, or have our crew quote the haul using the listing's radius and fee. Reserve the site in your own name first, then match the rig to the pad length and hookups. Our camper listings state length, tanks and power draw plainly, and we answer campground fit questions all day.

What Campers Say

★★★★★

We went camping with the family in Oct! I normally try to name drop but do not remember the managers name, but she was amazing. They had so many activities for the kids. The other guests were friendly as well. I can't brag on this place enough.

★★★★★

We arrived on Wednesday 9/25 late in the afternoon. When we tried to check in to deluxe cabin 35 someone had misplaced the key. The entire staff did everything possible to accommodate us. Definitely more than I would have. They were going to set us up none of their basic cabins. We would have been ok witj that.

★★★★★

The crew at this KOA work tirelessly to make our stay pleasant. AJ kept the bathrooms spotless (and that was a job with the large group of people who stay there). Everyone was so friendly and there are tons of activities for both young and old. I especially loved the two small waterfalls on the nearby river.
